Lambskin has historically been the material of choice for tobacco pouches but has lost favor due to expense. This pouch is made from velvety soft lambskin which comes from an old French Tannery. It is tanned using natural vegetable based tannins instead of modern chemicals which through a time consuming and ancient process creates a very durable leather. The lack of finish on the leather means it will develop a dark warm patina from the oils in ones hands throughout years of use.
The interior of the pouch is lined with natural gum rubber which is manufactured in the United States. Unlike many synthetic materials it has a very neutral scent which will not affect your favorite blend. Great care has been taken to build the pouch with out the use of odorous adhesives.
Many people find a pouch to be in indispensable accessory to keep their daily blend at the proper humidity.
Often times leathers will have the upper layer of grain removed so that natural markings from the animals life are no longer there to create something with a homogeneous appearance. The topmost layer of grain gives the material the most strength and durability therefore Full Grain leather may contain natural markings.
